Child Safety Standards

Last updated: August 19, 2026

Floodgate LLC d/b/a Surro Social (“Surro Social,” “we,” “us”) has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. This page sets out the standards that govern the Surro Social mobile application and website, and how we prevent, detect, and respond to child sexual abuse and exploitation (“CSAE”) and child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”).

Our prohibition

Surro Social strictly prohibits, and does not tolerate on any part of our services:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form, including images, video, audio, text, computer-generated, or AI-generated depictions.
  • Any sexualization of a minor, including sexualized commentary about, or depictions of, a person under 18.
  • Grooming, solicitation, sextortion, or any attempt to develop a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes.
  • Trafficking of a minor, or the advertisement, promotion, solicitation, or facilitation of any of the above.
  • Sharing, linking to, or directing users toward off-platform CSAE or CSAM content.

These prohibitions apply to all content and conduct on Surro Social — posts, comments, journals, direct messages, community and sub-community content, event chat, live audio and video, profile information, and uploaded media.

Surro Social is an adults-only service

Surro Social is intended solely for adults aged 18 and older. Our services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to create an account. If we learn that an account belongs to a person under 18, we terminate that account and delete the associated data.

How to report

Any user can report content or another member from inside the Surro Social app:

  • Report a post, comment, or member — use the “...” menu on any post, comment, or profile and select Report.
  • Block a member — available from the same menu and from Settings.
  • Report during a live event — hosts and members can report or remove a participant from the participant list.

You may also report directly to our child safety team at info@surrosocial.com. Reports involving child safety are prioritized above all other reports.

You do not need a Surro Social account to make a child safety report by email.

How we respond

When we receive a report or otherwise become aware of potential CSAE or CSAM, we:

  1. Prioritize and review the report ahead of other queues.
  2. Remove violating content and preserve the relevant records as required by law.
  3. Terminate the accounts of members who violate these standards, and take reasonable steps to prevent them from returning.
  4. Report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through the CyberTipline, and cooperate with NCMEC and with law enforcement as required by applicable law.

We take these actions regardless of whether the content was public, in a private community, or in a direct message.

Compliance with law

Surro Social complies with applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where our services are available, including obligations to report apparent child sexual abuse material to the appropriate authorities. We cooperate with valid legal process from law enforcement in child safety investigations.
