Delete Your Surro Social Account
Last updated: August 19, 2026
Floodgate LLC d/b/a Surro Social (“Surro Social,” “we,” “us”) lets you delete your account and the data associated with it at any time. You do not need to contact us first, and you do not need to reinstall the app to make a request.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app
- Open the Surro Social app and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted.
Your account is deleted immediately. This cannot be undone.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you no longer have the app installed, cannot sign in, or would rather we handle it, email info@surrosocial.com.
Please send the request from the email address associated with your Surro Social account, and include:
- the email address or phone number on the account, and
- your Surro Social username, if you know it.
We will verify that the request comes from the account holder before deleting anything. We respond to deletion requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner. If we cannot verify ownership, we will tell you why rather than delete an account on an unverified request.
What gets deleted
Deleting your Surro Social account permanently removes:
- your account and login credentials;
- your profile, photo, and bio;
- your journal entries, journal photos, and print books;
- your posts, comments, and reactions across communities and sub-communities;
- your tracked health information, including bump tracker entries, weight entries, medications, appointments, moods, and milestone journey data;
- your events, event participation, and event chat;
- your follows, blocks, and reports you have filed;
- your notifications and reminders.
What we retain, and for how long
- Uploaded files and chat messages. Photos and other media you uploaded, and messages you sent in direct or event chats, are removed from the service and are no longer accessible to you or to other members. Copies may remain in our storage and messaging systems for up to 30 days before they are permanently purged.
- Financial records. Records of completed store orders and Surro Bucks transactions, where we are required to keep them for tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
- Records we must preserve by law, such as those relating to a child safety report or a valid legal request.
- Backups. Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before those backups age out. It is not restored to the live service and is not used for any other purpose.
